Characters and conversations

Create an AI Character

Start with the character you want to talk to, not a long list of disconnected traits. Our creation tools support a written identity and appearance, while retained versions let you distinguish later edits from the setup used by an existing conversation.

Write a usable character outline

Give the Kyn an adult age, a role, a motivation and a recognizable speaking style. For a mystery-bookshop owner, that might mean a 35-year-old archivist who is patient with visitors, precise about dates and reluctant to discuss one missing volume.

A clear motivation gives the character something to pursue. A contradiction such as being both completely trusting and suspicious of everyone needs context, or it becomes a source of inconsistent replies.

Choose a creation method

The editor documents manual creation, AI-assisted drafting, random generation, combining existing Kyns and importing material. Whichever route you use, review the result before keeping it.

Check the appearance, birthdate, background and opening message together. An imported or automatically drafted profile still needs to describe an original adult character and comply with the same rules as a manually written one.

Personality, identity and world context

The documented editor separates public-facing personality and physical traits from private identity and backstory fields. It allows up to 18 personality expressions and a separate set of up to 18 identity expressions.

A world file describes the setting; a behavioral overlay changes how a Kyn acts. These are not substitutes for a coherent core identity. Use additional context for the particular world or behavior you need rather than repeating the whole biography.

Decide how the Kyn will be used

Edits are retained as versions. A conversation remains on its selected version unless you deliberately move it. Changing a profile therefore should not be treated as proof that every existing thread has changed.

Keep a Kyn private while you are deciding whether to share it. Publishing has lasting consequences: the creation documentation says a public Kyn does not disappear when its creator deletes an account.

Questions and answers

Can I keep a custom Kyn private?

Yes. The creation tools distinguish private and public profiles. Private visibility does not remove the requirement that the character and its appearance are adult and comply with content rules.

Does editing a Kyn replace its previous version?

The editor keeps versions. A thread can remain attached to an older version, so check which version a conversation uses when an edit does not appear in its replies.

Can I undo publishing by deleting my account?

No. Public Kyns are treated separately from account closure. The character documentation says published profiles can transfer to the platform account rather than being removed with the creator.
